The Event
The TCS London Marathon is one of the World Marathon Major events and will take place in 2025 on Sunday 27th April. With over 40,000 runners set to run 42.2km through the streets of London, taking in the iconic city landmarks along the way. There’s nothing quite like the festival atmosphere of the London Marathon and Tri Travel can make this bucket list dream a reality for you.
The Tour
As an Official International Tour Operator for the TCS London Marathon, we are delighted to offer a 4-night tour package with guaranteed race entry. Lead by our team of passionate runners, we’ll assist you with all your event week needs such as registration, some final light group runs and getting to and from your race start.

Park Plaza Waterloo Hotel
Our accommodation at the Park Plaza Waterloo is in a premium location, set close to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. It is also an easy walk to the London Eye, London Aquarium and a short tube ride to the West End theatre district, and is surrounded by restaurants and cafes. Importantly, it is only 1km from the water taxi that takes athletes to the race expo, and is an easy 1.8km walk from the finish line in Pall Mall.
The hotel is within a short walk from Waterloo and Lambeth tube stations, offering links to the top attractions of the city, and is one of London’s best-rated hotels.
Event Location
The TCS London Marathon takes place in the heart of London, starting in Blackheath in Lewisham and finishing on The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace.
Getting There
We recommend flying into Heathrow airports for long-haul international services. Both of these airports offer train/underground services direct to the centre of London. Our team hotel is accessible via the Bakerloo Line, exiting at Lambeth North Station.
Location Highlights
London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom, is a 21st-century city with history stretching back to Roman times. At its centre stand the imposing Houses of Parliament, the iconic ‘Big Ben’ clock tower and Westminster Abbey, site of British monarch coronations. Across the Thames River, the London Eye observation wheel provides panoramic views of the South Bank cultural complex, and the entire city.
The weather in the London during race time in April is around 15 degrees, so we advise our runners and tour members to pack warm clothes. The nights can also be very cold.
THURSDAY 22 APRIL, 2027
Today team members will arrive at their accommodation Park Plaza Waterloo, 6 Hercules Road, London at varying times. Our tour leaders will be on hand if there are any issues.
Arrivals Information
Arriving into Heathrow Airport please follow the signs to the Heathrow Express or the Queen Elizabeth Line. Purchase a one-way or return ticket. The train trip into Paddington Station takes around 20-30 minutes.
Once you arrive at Paddington Station please follow the signs to the Underground station (an easy few minute walk). Purchase a Zone 1 ticket and make your way to the Bakerloo Line. You will then make your way to the platform that will take you to Lambeth North Station.
The hotel is across the road from the entrance of the Lambeth North Station.
5:00pm Team Run St James Park
This evening the team will meet in the foyer of the hotel at 6:00pm and your tour leaders will lead you to St. James Park to show you the finish line area and meeting place for supporters after the event.
We will then run past Buckingham Palace and follow the route back home to the hotel. We will run 25 minutes at an easy pace but you can run shorter or longer depending on your personal training program.
6:30pm Team Welcome
Meeting in the foyer of the hotel at 6:30pm you will join our tour leaders for a welcome drink at the Hercules Hotel (which is across the road). This is a way for you to meet the team, we will hand out your kit bag and a chance to go through the next few days of the itinerary.
Once the function is finished you will have free time for dinner for which we can recommend the Hercules Hotel.
FRIDAY 23 APRIL, 2027
9:00am Race Registration & Expo Visit
After you have had breakfast and showered after the run, we will head to the Race Registration and Expo at the ExCel Building.
We will meet in the foyer at 8:45am and travel together by famous London Underground, We will leave at 9:00am sharp. We will then return from the ExCel building at 11:30am but if you wish to stay longer the train/tube is an easy option to get back to London City Centre for some sightseeing or to the Park Plaza Waterloo Hotel.
5:00pm Quick Team Meeting
This afternoon we will meet in the foyer at 5:00pm for a short 15-20 minute meeting to go over the final race day transport plans and answer any last minute questions you may have.
Afterwards you will be free to go to dinner at one of the local restaurants or order room service – depending on your pre-race ritual. Please be sure to book earlier in the week.
SATURDAY 24 APRIL, 2027
7:30am Meet in Foyer
Today we are going to meet in the foyer at 7:30am and walk to Waterloo Station. Spectators will follow their runner’s train route below also.
After the spectators say goodbye to their runners at Greenwich you will meet the team at the Hare and Billet Pub for a coffee (or Guinness). Shane will show you the location as we walk to the start area and pin it on WhatsApp.
We will then walk about 1.5km to the Cutty Sark to watch the race and then make their way to the Greenwich Pier for the journey back to London Marathon finish area by boat.
SUNDAY 25 APRIL 2027
After achieving your goal of finishing the London marathon yesterday, today we have arranged a great spectator day for all of our team.
We will all jump on a fast boat to Greenwich to the Cutty Sark where we have set up a spectator area to watch the elite men come through. We then board the boat and head to Tower Bridge to watch the runners past through before making our way to the finish area.
Here we have set up a viewing area for us to watch the runners cross the line and view the big screens in the park.
Departures
Today we will all return home or head onto other European adventures. If you need assistance with directions, please see the tour leaders or the hotel concierge during the week.
