The Event
Challenge Barcelona will take place on Sunday 25 October 2026. This year’s event includes a Middle Distance race, Sprint Distance, Junior Challenge, Aquathlon and Open Water Swims.
The range of distances available caters to athletes of all levels, making it inclusive and accessible to beginners and experienced racers alike. With the support of the local crowd, it creates an electrifying atmosphere, spurring participants on to achieve their best.
The Middle Distance race includes a 1900 metre swim at Mar Bella Beach, an 88km bike ride along a flat course between Barcelona and Mataró, and a 21km run along the city’s seafront promenade.
Test your physical endurance and connect with fellow athletes from around the world. It’s no wonder that Challenge Barcelona is such a sought-after event on the international triathlon calendar!

Ibis Barcelona Plaza Glòries 22@ is located in Barcelona’s Glòries district, 500 metres from Torre Agbar. It offers a fitness centre, 24-hour bar and soundproofed rooms with a flat-screen TV. All rooms at the Ibis Plaza Glòries have air conditioning and heating. They also have a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Free Wi-Fi is offered throughout.
The Hotel Ibis Plaza Glòries has a restaurant which serves a buffet breakfast. Llacuna and Glòries Metro Stations are within 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel. From here you can reach Plaza Catalunya or Barceloneta Beach in under 10 minutes.
The race venue is less than 2km from the hotel. Approx. 25 min walk.
